Adventist Health AIS Cancer Center is seeking a compassionate and motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing Oncology team in Bakersfield, California. This provider will primarily support our Oncology Same Day Clinic, providing timely evaluation and treatment for cancer patients experiencing acute symptoms or treatment-related concerns that require prompt attention but may not require emergency department care.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage oncology patients presenting with acute symptoms, treatment side effects, or urgent care needs
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory and diagnostic testing
- Manage symptoms related to cancer treatment, including nausea, dehydration, pain, infection concerns, and other treatment-related complications
- Coordinate care with oncologists, infusion staff, nurses, and other members of the care team
- Educate patients regarding treatment plans, symptom management, medications, and follow-up care
Benefits
- Competitive salary range: $170,000 - $220,000 annually

Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current California Nurse Practitioner license
- Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner
- DEA certification and furnishing license required
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Emergency Room, Urgent Care, or Same Day Clinic experience
- Previous Hematology/Oncology experience
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
