Nurse Practitioner – Hematology/Oncology (Outpatient)

Adventist Health AIS Cancer Center is seeking a compassionate and motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing Hematology/Oncology team in Bakersfield, California. This provider will work collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care to oncology and hematology patients in a supportive and mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage hematology and oncology patients
  • Conduct patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor patient progress
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, infusion staff, and care coordinators to provide comprehensive care
  • Document patient encounters accurately and timely within the EMR system
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain evidence-based practice standard

 

Benefits:

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Current California Nurse Practitioner license
  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP, AGNP, or ACNP preferred)
  • DEA certification and furnishing license required
  • Previous Hematology/Oncology experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment

Preferred Skills

  • Experience managing chemotherapy side effects and oncology treatment plans
  • Knowledge of hematologic disorders and oncology protocols
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
