Nurse Practitioner – Hematology/Oncology (Outpatient)

Adventist Health AIS Cancer Center is seeking a compassionate and motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing Hematology/Oncology team in Bakersfield, California. This provider will work collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care to oncology and hematology patients in a supportive and mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage hematology and oncology patients
- Conduct patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor patient progress
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, infusion staff, and care coordinators to provide comprehensive care
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely within the EMR system
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain evidence-based practice standard

Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current California Nurse Practitioner license
- Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP, AGNP, or ACNP preferred)
- DEA certification and furnishing license required
- Previous Hematology/Oncology experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience managing chemotherapy side effects and oncology treatment plans
- Knowledge of hematologic disorders and oncology protocols
